Say It With Sign Programs for Infants and Toddlers
Signing presents an opportunity for you and
your entire family to interact with your child on a
completely new level. By using American Sign Language signs
while talking with your child, you give him or her the tools
to communicate months earlier and with a broader, more
extensive vocabulary than with spoken words alone. Without
needing to grunt or cry, your baby will be able to express:
"I'm thirsty." "I prefer the swing to the slide." "I want
more of something." "I feel sick." Through real language,
your toddler can ask you about the moon, ask you to explain
a strange noise, or "talk" with you as you read books
together. Signing opens up a new world of communication,
intimacy, and ideas in young children.
